تستخدم الكثير من الكلمات بشكل تلقائي ولا نعلم أصولها ومن أين بدأت سوف نستكمل رحلتنا في البحث عن الكلمات ومحطتنا اليوم مع كلمة «أراجوز».
هذه الكلمة التي استخدمت بشكل أساسي في العروض الترفيهية للأطفال فكان يستخدم الأراجوز لنقل القيم والأخلاق الحميدة للأطفال بطريقة بسيطة وممتعة ولتبسيط المعلومات والمعارف المختلفة ويشجعهم على التفاعل والمشاركة في العرض مما يعزز مهاراتهم الإجتماعية ، وتحفز عروض الأراجوز خيال الأطفال فتزيد الإلهام والإبداع لديهم ؛ واستخدمت ايضًا العروض ليتعرف الأطفال على تراثهم الثقافي وتاريخهم ويشعرهم بالإنتماء إلى مجتمعهم.
واختلفت النظريات حول أصلها حيث يعتقد البعض أن أصل الكلمة تركي ومشتقة من "قرة قوز" والتي تعني ذو العين السوداء ؛ والبعض يقول أن أصلها مصري قديم وتعني "صانع الحكايات" ؛ وهناك من ربطها بالكلمة العربية "أرجوزة" وهي نوع من الشعر ؛ فلا يوجد إجماع على أصل الكلمة فيمكن أن يكون أصلها مزيجًا من كل هذا أو أصلً آخر غير معروف.
واشتهرت كلمة أراجوز بعدة أشياء منها أنه فن شعبي ويعتبر من أقدم الفنون الشعبية في مصر ، وتستخدم للسخرية وانتقاد المجتمع والأوضاع السياسية.
ولازال الأراجوز يحظى بشعبية كبيرة حتى الآن في العروض الحية أو عبر وسائل التواصل لدى الأطفال والكبار فهو جزء لا يتجزأ من التراث الثقافي المصري.
تم إدراج الأراجوز على قائمة اليونسكو للتراث الثقافي غير المادي.
