الإسكندراني الذي صنع لنفسه إمبراطورية عالمية، من ميناء الإسكندرية إلى قمة الأعمال، رحلة مليئة بالتحديات والنجاحات "محمد الفايد"
في يناير عام 1926م وُلد محمد الفايد وُلد بأُسرة متوسطة الحال وكان يعمل أبوه مدرسًا للغة العربية.
وُلد في منطقة رأس التين بالإسكندرية ولكنه لم يمكث هناك سوى فترة طفولته ويعرف هناك بإسم "الملياردير" لأنه من أغنى رجال العالم فيتباهى به أهالي منطقته.
بدأ بالعمل منذ صغره حيث كان يقوم بنقل البضائع بميناء الإسكندرية، وفي منتصف الستينات انتقل إلى المملكة المتحدة وبدأ العمل هناك وأصبح غنيًا حيث احتل المرتبة 12 في قائمة أثرياء العرب والمرتبة 1516 عالميًا.
كان يمتلك فندق في لندن "Ritz Paris" وتم إعادة افتتاحه عام 2019م حيث استمرت التجديدات لمدة 4 أعوام وسُميت الغرف بأسماء الضيوف من المشاهير، وأيضًا كان يمتلك متجر شهير في لندن "هارودز" الذي باعه لقطر.
ولديه أيضاً قصراً بمنطقة فيكتوريا اشتراه لنجله "عماد محمد الفايد" من ورثة الخواجة لابورتا الذي كان يلقب القصر يإسمه لأنه ذا طابع تراثي مميز وسُمي الشارع بإسم نجله "عماد" الذي توفي 1997 في حادث باريس الشهير رفقة الأميرة ديانا ؛ ويُقال من أهل المنطقة أن القصر مهجوراً منذ سنوات كثيرة.
قام بإنشاء جمعية لرعاية مرضى السرطان بالإسكندرية بمنطقة محرم بك بإسم شقيقته "صفية الفايد" لمساعدة أهالي محافظته.
وتُوفي في عام 2023م عن عمر يناهز 94 عامًا.

Born in January 1926 into a middle-class family, Mohamed Al-Fayed's father was an Arabic language teacher.
Born in the Ras El-Tin district of Alexandria, he spent only his childhood there and is known locally as "the billionaire" due to his immense wealth, a source of pride for the people of his neighborhood.
He began working at a young age, transporting goods in the Port of Alexandria. In the mid-1960s, he moved to the United Kingdom where he started his business and became incredibly wealthy, ranking 12th on the list of Arab billionaires and 1516th globally.
He owned the Ritz Paris hotel in London, which reopened in 2019 after four years of renovations. The rooms were named after famous guests. He also owned the renowned Harrods department store in London, which he later sold to Qatar.
He possessed a palace in the Victoria district, purchased for his son, Emad Mohamed Al-Fayed, from the heirs of Khawaaja Laburta. The palace was named after Laburta due to its distinctive heritage, and the street was named after his son Emad, who tragically passed away in the famous Paris accident with Princess Diana in 1997. Locals say the palace has been abandoned for many years.
He established a charity in the Maharam Bek district of Alexandria in the name of his sister, Safia Al-Fayed, to support the people of his governorate.
