كلمة اختلف الناس حول اصل تسميتها ، لكن المؤكد أنها نتاج للهجات التي مرت على تاريخ مصر يشيروا بها الي المشروبات الغازية ..
يعتقد البعض أن لها جذوراً فرنسية حيث كان يستخدم أفراد الاستعمار الفرنسي كلمة "boisson gazeuse" و التي تعني المشروب الغازي فتأثر بهم الشعب المصري حيث خففوا نطق حرف الجيم أو الغين في اللهجة العامية المصرية الي ان أصبحت كاف ف ظهر مصطلح "كازوزة".
من جهة اخري يوجد فريق آخر من الناس يُرجِع اصل الكلمة الي نطق الانجليز لأقدم مشروب مثلج و هو "العرقسوس" حيث كانوا يقولوا "إرك سوس" تأثراً بلهجتهم الإنجليزية و من هنا تحرفت الكلمة الي "كاسوس" الي ان ثبتت علي نطقها الحالي و هو ايضاً "كازوزة".
رغم اختلاف الأقاويل لكن كان من المعروف ان الشعب السكندري خفف نطق حرف الكاف إلى همزة و ظهر مصطلح "أزوزة" ، كما ان ظهر اول مصنع لل"كازوزة" المصرية في الإسكندرية عام 1909.
و حتي الآن يتم استخدام مصطلح "كازوزة" او "ازوزة" في بعض الدول و في مقدمتهم مصر ، و في دول المغرب العربي تعرف بكلمة "قازوزة" ، أمّا في اللغة التركية الحديثة فهي تُنطق"جازوز".

The "Azoza" or "Kazooza"
A word that people have debated over its origin, but what is certain is that it is a product of the dialects that have influenced Egypt's history, referring to carbonated beverages..
Some believe it has French roots, as individuals during the French colonization used the term "boisson gazeuse" , which means carbonated drink. Egyptian people were influenced by this, softening the pronunciation of the letter 'jeem' or 'ghain' in the Egyptian dialect until it became 'kaf,' leading to the term "Kazooza".
On the other hand, another group attributes the origin of the word to the English pronunciation of one of the oldest iced drinks, "Al-araq sous" as they used to say "Erk Sous" , influenced by their English accent. From here, the word transformed to "Kasous" until it settled into its current pronunciation, also as "Kazooza".
Despite the differing opinions, it is known that the Alexandrian people softened the pronunciation of the letter 'kaf' to a glottal stop, resulting in the term "Azoza". Additionally, the first factory for Egyptian "Kazooza" was established in Alexandria in 1909.
Even today, the terms "Kazooza" or "Azoza" are used in several countries, particularly in Egypt. In the Maghreb countries, it is known as "Gazouza" , while in modern Turkish, it is pronounced "Jazoz".
