بنسيون "pension" في اللغة الفرنسية وأيضاً في قاموس اللغة العربية المعاصر تعني "نزل أو فندق صغير" "petit établissement hôtelier"
وقديماً بنسيونات مصر القديمة تعرف إلى المساحات التي تجعل القاهرة تنبض بالحياة ليلاً.
وكان يعمل مصور يُدعى "كريم" كمهندس معماري داخلي وقاده شغفه إلى مجال الفن البصري والتصوير الفوتوغرافي.
وقام الفنان البصري كريم بإستكشاف البنسيونات التي تتواجد في القاهرة خلال مشروع "غرف منسيه" وأضاف المصور أن البنسيونات بمثابة النبض المتبقي في وسط البلد ليلاً.

The Story Behind the Word "Pension"
In French, and also in the contemporary Arabic dictionary, "pension" means "inn" or "small hotel."
In ancient times, the pensions of old Cairo were known as the spaces that made Cairo come alive at night.
A photographer named Karim worked as an interior architect, and his passion led him to the field of visual art and photography.
Visual artist Karim explored the pensions of Cairo during his "Forgotten Rooms" project. He added that the pensions are like the remaining pulse of downtown Cairo at night.
