في أحد أقدم مناطق الإسكندرية "المكس" تجد مبنى منفرد مُتهالك يزيد عمره عن ٢٠٠ عام يسمى المبنى باللوكاندة الحمراء
سميت بهذا الإسم لأنها كانت متميزة باللون الأحمر ، وهي عبارة عن مبنى يتكون من أربعة طوابق تم تصميمها على الطراز الإسلامي و اليوناني تم تصميمها على أعلى مستوى هندسي لتتحدى عوامل التعرية حيث تقع على أمتار قليلة من البحر بالإضافة إلى الأخشاب المستوردة بالكامل من خارج مصر .
كانت اللوكاندة الحمراء وقت الإحتلال الأنجليزي يتم إستغلالها لإقامه الحفلات الفنية ، و في عصر الملك فؤاد و الملك فاروق وفي فتره الخمسينات تحولت اللوكانده إلى مسكن و بعدها في فترة التسعينات تم هجرة المسكن .
ولأنها من المباني العتيقة التي تحمل الكثير من التاريخ بداخلها تم تسجيلها في الذاكرة وظهرت في السينما المصرية في فترة الأفلام الأبيض و الأسود.

It was given this name because it was distinguished by its red color ، It is a four-storey building designed in the Islamic and Greek style. It was designed at the highest engineering level to challenge the factors of erosion, as it is located a few meters from the sea, in addition to timber completely imported from outside Egypt.
At the time of the English occupation, the red lodging was being used to hold artistic concerts. During the era of King Fouad and King Farouk, in the fifties the lodging was transformed into a residence, and then in the nineties the residence was abandoned.
Because it is one of the ancient buildings that carries a lot of history inside it, it was recorded in memory and appeared in Egyptian cinema during the period of black and white films.
