حصل على بكالوريوس كلية الفنون الجميلة قسم التصوير جامعة الإسكندرية 1976م ، والدراسات العليا في التصوير الجداري والفنون المرتبطة بالعمارة ، وماجستير في التصوير الجداري 1982م ، وأيضًا دكتوراه في أثر البيئة على تقنيات التصوير الجداري في مصر 1987م.
نال الفنان 26 جائزة محلية ودولية ، وعلى 136 شهادة تقدير وميدالية من 1972م حتى 1999م ؛ وحصل على جائزة من معرض شنغهاي في عيون فناني العالم - الصين 2002.
قام الفنان بأعمال فنية متنوعة من فنون الفسيفساء والزجاج الملون وأعمال فى فن النحت والتصميمات المطبوعة والتصميم الداخلى والتصميم المعمارى فى قرية سفاجا بالبحر الأحمر ، والشركة المصرية الألمانية لتصنيع الأغذية بالإسكندرية ، وشركة بايبك بالإسكندرية ، والأمانة العامة لمحافظة بنى غازى ، وفندق ميركيور رومانس بالإسكندرية ، مجموعة شركات سان جيوفانى بالإسكندرية، نادى اليخت المصري بالإسكندرية ، ومؤسسة بريد جيستون بالإسكندرية ، أندلسية للاستثمار العقارى بالإسكندرية ، شركة النصر العامة للمقاولات، شركة المقاولون العرب ، وزارة الدفاع ، وزارة النقل والمواصلات، وزارة الإسكان والمجتمعات العمرانية، رئاسة الجمهورية.
شارك في العديد من المعارض الجماعية المحلية ما يقارب ٥٩ معرض بدايةً من معارض أتيليه الإسكندرية ومعارض أعضاء هيئة التدريس بكلية الفنون الجميلة بالإسكندرية والمسابقات القومية التي تقيمها وزارة الثقافة ومعارض مديرية الثقافة بالإسكندرية منذ عام 1970م وحتى معرض " تقاطعات الفكر مع سحر معالجة الفسيفساء " بقاعتي نهضة مصر وإيزيس بمركز محمود مختار الثقافي يناير 2024.
وأيضًا شارك الفنان فيما يقارب ٤١ معرض من المعارض الجماعية الدولية بداية من سنة 1977 المهرجان العربي للفنون التشكيلية - بغداد وحتى 2013 معرض " الفن والسلام " بالمركز الثقافي المصري بفيينا - النمسا.
كلف بتصميم وتنفيذ جداريات بمدينة الإسكندرية 2000 ـ 2001 .
وأصبح عضو اللجنة الإستشارية العليا لتطوير التعليم ، و عضو ورئيس لجان لتحكيم المشروعات والأعمال الفنية وقام بسير بعض المعارض الدولية والمحلية وذلك من خلال وزارات الثقافة والتعليم العالى والشباب منذ عام 1977 وحتى الآن.
قام الفنان بجولات في أنحاء العالم خاصة أفريقيا ؛ وترأس عدة مناصب ووظائف ابتدائًا من رئيس مجلس إدارة مركز تنمية المهارات الفنية والمعمارية ؛ وتدرج في الوظائف لأستاذ ورئيس قسم التصوير ثم إلى عميد كلية الفنون الجميلة جامعة الإسكندرية سابقاً .
والآن أصبح أستاذ متفرغ بكلية الفنون الجميلة بجامعة الإسكندرية.

Unforgettable Alexandrian Figures
Today, our appointment is with Professor Dr. Mohamed Shaker.
The artist was born in Dakahlia in 1947.
He received a Bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts, Department of Painting, Alexandria University in 1976, postgraduate studies in mural painting and architecture-related arts, a Master’s degree in mural painting in 1982, and a PhD in the impact of the environment on mural painting techniques in Egypt in 1987.
The artist received 26 local and international awards, as well as 136 certificates of appreciation and medals from 1972 to 1999. He also won an award from the “Shanghai in the Eyes of World Artists” exhibition in China in 2002.
The artist carried out various artistic works including mosaics, stained glass, sculpture, printed designs, interior design, and architectural design in Safaga village on the Red Sea, the Egyptian-German Food Manufacturing Company in Alexandria, PIPEK Company in Alexandria, the General Secretariat of Benghazi Governorate, Mercure Romance Hotel in Alexandria, San Giovanni Group companies in Alexandria, the Egyptian Yacht Club in Alexandria, Bridgestone Foundation in Alexandria, Andalusia Real Estate Investment in Alexandria, El Nasr General Contracting Company, Arab Contractors Company, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the Ministry of Housing and Urban Communities, and the Presidency of the Republic.
He participated in many local group exhibitions, nearly 59 exhibitions, beginning with Alexandria Atelier exhibitions, Faculty of Fine Arts staff exhibitions in Alexandria, national competitions organized by the Ministry of Culture, and Alexandria Culture Directorate exhibitions since 1970, up to the exhibition “Intersections of Thought with the Magic of Mosaic Processing” at Nahdet Misr and Isis halls in Mahmoud Mokhtar Cultural Center in January 2024.
The artist also participated in nearly 41 international group exhibitions, beginning in 1977 with the Arab Festival of Plastic Arts in Baghdad and ending in 2013 with the “Art and Peace” exhibition at the Egyptian Cultural Center in Vienna, Austria.
He was commissioned to design and execute murals in Alexandria between 2000 and 2001.
He became a member of the Supreme Advisory Committee for Educational Development, and a member and chairman of committees judging artistic projects and works. He also supervised several international and local exhibitions through the Ministries of Culture, Higher Education, and Youth since 1977 until now.
The artist traveled around the world, especially in Africa, and held several positions and jobs, starting as Chairman of the Board of the Center for the Development of Artistic and Architectural Skills. He later became Professor and Head of the Painting Department, then former Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at Alexandria University.
He is now Professor Emeritus at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Alexandria University.
