الموسيقار المصري جمال سلامه ولد في 5 اكتوبر 1945 وكان حب الفن في دمه حيث نشأ في عائلة فنية فوالده حافظ أحمد سلامه كان مؤلفاً لموسيقى السيمفونية ، وكان أخوه ملحنًا وعازفاً للأكورديون بفرقة سيدة الغناء العربي أم كلثوم وباقي عائلته كانوا يعملون بالمجال الفني.
مما جعله يدرس الموسيقى منذ الصغر وتخصص في آلة البيانو ثم التأليف الموسيقي في كونسرفاتوار القاهرة بأكاديمية الفنون على يد نخبة من الأساتذة المصريين والأجانب ، حصل على أعلى شهادة في التأليف الموسيقي المعادلة لدرجة الدكتوراه من كونسرفاتوار بموسكو ، وحصل أيضاً على دبلوم المعهد القومي العالي للموسيقى من كونسرفاتوار القاهرة.
نال الموسيقار جائزة عيد الفن لعام 1977 ، وجائزة الدولة التشجيعية في الفنون من المجلس الأعلى للثقافة عام 1981.
ألف خلال رحلته الفنية موسيقى تصويرية لما يقرب من 220 عملاً ما بين سينما ودراما تلفزيونية ومسرح.
قام بتأليف الموسيقى التصويرية للعديد من الأعمال السينمائية منها: حبيبي دائماً ، وغاوي مشاكل ، ورحلة النسيان والنمر الأسود ؛ ووضع تترات وموسيقى مسلسلات عديدة منها : دعوة للحب ، وهي والمستحيل وذئاب الجبل.
ولحَن عدداً من الأغاني من أشهرها " ساعات ساعات" و " احكي يا شهرزاد "و " بيروت ست الدنيا".
وعمل عضو هيئة تدريس كونسرفتوار القاهرة بأكاديمية الفنون، كما شغل عضوية لجنة الموسيقى بالمجلس الأعلى للثقافة، وتولى قيادة الفرقة القومية للفنون الشعبية، وعزف الموسيقار على آلة الأورج في فرقة أم كلثوم، وتولى فيما بعد قيادة الفرقة القومية للفنون الشعبية.
ورحل الموسيقار جمال سلامه عن عالمنا في 2021 عن عمر يناهز 75 عاماً.

The Egyptian composer Gamal Salama was born on October 5, 1945, with a deep love for art, having grown up in an artistic family. His father, Hafiz Ahmed Salama, was a composer of symphonic music, and his brother was a composer and accordionist in the band of the legendary singer Umm Kulthum. The rest of his family also worked in the arts.
This artistic environment led him to study music from a young age, specializing in piano and musical composition at the Cairo Conservatoire of the Academy of Arts, where he was trained by a group of prominent Egyptian and foreign professors. He earned the highest degree in musical composition, equivalent to a doctorate, from the Moscow Conservatory and also received a diploma from the National Conservatory in Cairo.
Gamal Salama received the Art Day Award in 1977 and the State Incentive Award in the Arts from the Supreme Council of Culture in 1981.
Throughout his career, he composed the music for nearly 220 works, including films, television dramas, and theater productions.
He composed the soundtrack for several notable films such as “Habibi Da’iman,” “Ghawi Mashakel,” “Rehlet Al-Nisyan,” and “The Black Tiger.” He also created the theme music for various TV series, including “Dawaa Lil Hob,” “Hiya wal Mustaheel,” and “The Mountain Wolves.”
Among the famous songs he composed are “Saa’at Saa’at,” “Ehki Ya Shahrazad,” and “Beirut, Set El Donia.”
Gamal Salama was also a member of the teaching staff at the Cairo Conservatoire, a member of the music committee at the Supreme Council of Culture, and led the National Folk Arts Troupe. Additionally, he played the organ in Umm Kulthum’s band and later led the National Folk Arts Troupe.
Gamal Salama passed away in 2021 at the age of 75.
