It wasn't just their dialect and words that set Egyptians apart, but also their unique customs and traditions. One such custom was the "bisha."
The bisha was a piece of Egyptian heritage, an integral part of the traditional folk attire for Egyptian women. Typically a black cloth, it was wrapped around the head and covered part of the face as a form of traditional veil. Its shapes and colors varied depending on the region and era.
The bisha was considered part of the Egyptian woman's cultural identity, signifying her belonging to her community and traditions. It was a symbol of the prevailing social customs and values.
However, as societies evolve and change, so too do their traditions. Egyptian society, influenced by social and cultural shifts, began adopting new fashion trends, gradually leading to a decline in the use of the bisha. Despite its disappearance in modern times, it remains a cherished memory in the Egyptian collective consciousness.
