Dr. Khaled Henou: Guardian of Alexandria's Visual Memory. Dr. Khaled Omar Henou (born in the Hadra district of Alexandria, 1968) is an Egyptian visual artist and art critic, considered a prominent voice in the modern Impressionist school. He dedicated his art to documenting the architectural and social heritage of his city, transforming his paintings into a living "visual archive" that preserves the spirit of Alexandria, its streets, cafes, and daily life with a realism tinged with nostalgia. His exceptional talent emerged in his childhood, and he made history at the Faculty of Fine Arts as the first student to hold a solo exhibition in 1990 while still a student. Over four decades, he enriched the art scene with more than 90 local and international exhibitions, culminating in his monumental project, "Alexandrians," which comprises over 113 paintings documenting the city's visual transformations.
