هي “صفية مصطفى فهمي”، ولدت في عام 1878م، وهي ابنة “مصطفى فهمي باشا”، الذي كان من أول الأشخاص الذين شغلوا منصب رئاسة وزراء مصر منذ أن وجد هذا المنصب. وكانت صفية تتميز بثقافتها العالية وذكائها الكبير.
تميزت صفية بدخولها التاريخ من أوسع أبوابه، وذلك لما لها من دور كبير في المرحلة التي سبقت ولحقت ثورة 1919م.
تزوجت سعد زغلول 1919م، وحينما تزوجته لم يكن سوى قاضيًا مصريًا ولكن عندما دخل المعترك السياسي ساعدته ووفقت بجانبه في الشدائد ولقبت بصفية زغلول نسبة إلى زوجها سعد زغلول.
لقد كانت صفية زغلول مثالًا يقتدى به في إخلاصها ووفائها لزوجها ووقوفها بجانبه في جميع ظروفه التي مر بها، سواء في السراء وفي الضراء.
وكان الزعيم سعد زغلول يحرص على أن تكون حرمه صفية على مستوى المسئولية، وأن تكون إلى جواره في زيارة أقرانه، وفي بعض جولاته التفتيشية، وعاشت صفية زغلول في كنف زعيم يحرص على تحرير الشعب بفئاته المختلفة، برجاله ونسائه، مسلمين وأقباط، واتضح ذلك في ثورة 1919م، الثورة الشاملة التي شارك فيها كافة طوائف الشعب.

She was Safia Mustafa Fahmy, born in 1878. She was the daughter of Mustafa Fahmy Pasha, one of the first people to hold the position of Prime Minister of Egypt since its inception. Safia was distinguished by her high level of education and great intelligence.
Safia made history through her significant role in the period leading up to and following the 1919 Revolution.
She married Saad Zaghloul in 1919. At the time of their marriage, he was merely an Egyptian judge, but when he entered the political arena, she supported him and stood by him through thick and thin. She became known as Safia Zaghloul, after her husband, Saad Zaghloul.
Safia Zaghloul was an exemplary figure in her devotion and loyalty to her husband, standing by him through all the circumstances he faced, both in times of joy and sorrow.
Leader Saad Zaghloul was keen for his wife, Safiya, to be up to the task and to accompany him on visits to his peers and on some of his inspection tours. Safiya Zaghloul lived under the care of a leader who was committed to liberating the people in all their diversity, men and women, Muslims and Copts. This commitment was evident in the 1919 revolution, a comprehensive revolution in which all segments of society participated.
